What is the StepAhead Student Portal?
The StepAhead Digital Platform is our online system that allows students to register, book lessons, make payments, track progress, and receive notifications digitally—reducing paperwork and improving service efficiency.
Is using the digital platform mandatory?
Yes. As part of our digitization drive, all students are required to use the digital platform for registrations, lesson bookings, payments, and official communication.
How do I access the student portal?
You can access the platform via:

Registration & Account Management
How do I register as a student?
Registration is done online by:
- Creating an account on the platform
- Selecting a training package
- Uploading required documents
Making payment
Can tertiary students receive a discount?
Yes. All tertiary students must upload a valid student ID during registration to qualify for the student package.
Can I update my personal details later?
Yes. Students may update personal details via their dashboard. However, name changes require administrative approval.
What are the requirements for enrolling in a driving course?
Students must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Provide valid identification
- Have a learner’s permit (optional but recommended)
Do I need prior driving experience to enroll?
No. No prior driving experience is required. Our beginner courses are designed for students who have never driven before.
Lesson Booking & Scheduling
How do I book driving lessons?
Lessons are booked through the platform by selecting:
- Available dates and time slots
- Instructor (where applicable)
- Vehicle type (manual or automatic, subject to availability)
Can I reschedule a lesson?
Yes. Lessons can be rescheduled within the permitted time window stated in the Terms & Conditions. Late rescheduling may attract penalties.
What happens if I miss a lesson?
Failure to attend a booked lesson without prior notice attracts a no-show penalty of GHS 20, and the lesson may be forfeited.
Are lessons available on weekends or after working hours?
Yes. We offer flexible schedules, including evening theory sessions and weekend lessons (Saturdays), to accommodate students.
How long does it take to complete a driving course?
Course duration depends on the selected program and student availability. Most courses are completed within 2 to 6 weeks.
Digital Payments & Receipts
What payment methods are accepted?
Payments can be made via:
- Mobile Money
- Bank transfers
- Other approved digital payment options on the platform
Will I receive a receipt for my payment?
Yes. Digital receipts are automatically generated and can be downloaded from your account dashboard.
Vehicle Use, Tracking & Instructor Monitoring
What types of vehicles are used for training?
We use well-maintained, dual-controlled vehicles equipped for both manual and automatic transmission training.
Are StepAhead vehicles digitally monitored?
Yes. All training vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking systems to ensure safety, transparency, and proper lesson usage.
What does the tracking system monitor?
The system monitors:
- Lesson start and end times
- Route usage
- Distance covered
- Unauthorized use outside booked lesson time
What happens if an instructor drives beyond my booked lesson time?
The tracking system automatically flags and restricts vehicle usage beyond the allocated training time, ensuring students receive full value for paid lessons.
Does vehicle tracking affect student privacy?
No. Tracking is limited strictly to vehicle usage and lesson monitoring. It does not capture personal student data.
Training Progress, Testing & Certification
Can I track my learning progress?
Yes. Students can view:
- Lessons completed
- Instructor remarks
- Remaining lessons
- Test readiness status
Will my training records be stored digitally?
Yes. We offer:
- Test preparation sessions
- Mock tests
- Guidance for both theory and practical examinations
Can I take the official driving test using the school’s vehicle?
Yes. Our vehicles are available for use during your official driving test, subject to availability and applicable fees.
Will I receive a certificate after completing the course?
Yes. Upon successful completion, students may receive a certificate (issued at a fee), which can enhance your chances of obtaining a driving license.
Notifications & Communication
Will I receive lesson reminders?
Yes. Automated reminders are sent via SMS, email, or in-app notifications before scheduled lessons.
How will StepAhead communicate important updates?
All official announcements, schedule changes, and policy updates are communicated digitally through the platform.
